My story profiling three political prisoners still locked up in Burma aired on The World yesterday. Got it on to coincide with the limited amnesty the government announced on Sunday, in advance of Independence Day today. Most advocates were pretty disappointed by the limited scope of the government’s actions–here an Irrawaddy editorial on the issue.

Another dissident leader who’s still locked up is Ko Jimmy. He drew this picture in jail.

The World also interviewed James Mackay yesterday about his new book of portraits of former Burma political prisoners.
